TeaSIP: AI telephony that calls and talks on its own — and how it beats free PBX systems
TeaSIP is an AI calling platform from the «Neural networks & AI» section: a neural voice, speech recognition and conversation scenarios run right on your own server, with no clouds. We break down how it works and compare it with free PBX systems (Asterisk, FreePBX, FreeSWITCH, VitalPBX) and cloud AI callers.
Automated client calling — payment reminders, order confirmations, quality surveys — usually either eats up operators' time or goes to cloud services, where call recordings and your client base leak out. TeaSIP from the «Neural networks & AI» section offers a third way: an AI agent that calls on its own, speaks in a human voice and runs a scripted dialogue — all on your own server, with no calls to external APIs.
How TeaSIP works
At its core is a local AI stack that never goes online:
- Neural voice (TTS). Male and female voices in Russian, English and Tajik. Barge-in is supported — the client can interrupt the robot and it stops, like a live operator.
- Speech recognition. Streaming, tuned for 8 kHz telephone quality, so it understands the caller even on a poor line.
- A language model that follows the script. It answers per your script, fills in variables like {name}, {amount}, {date} and can draw on uploaded documents.
- Visual scenario builder. The dialogue is assembled with the mouse; ready-made templates include a payment reminder, order confirmation, NPS survey, promo and visit reminder.
- Smart dialing. Retries, calls only within a 09:00–18:00 window, time-zone awareness and a per-carrier rate limit.
- Hand-off to a live operator with context — if the robot can't cope, the call goes to a human along with the conversation history.
- Integrations and reports. Webhooks and an API for your CRM, full recording and transcription of every conversation.
The key difference is that the entire AI (recognition, model, speech synthesis) runs offline, on your own hardware. Conversations and your client base never leave the company perimeter.
How TeaSIP differs from an ordinary PBX and cloud bots
It's important not to confuse three different classes of product.
Free PBX systems — Asterisk, FreePBX, FreeSWITCH, VitalPBX — are telephone exchanges. They route live operators' calls well, build queues and IVR menus ("press 1"), but on their own they can't speak with a voice or understand speech: AI calling has to be built and programmed from scratch on top of them, wiring in separate synthesis and recognition engines.
Cloud AI callers (Bland.ai and the like) can call and talk, but they run from someone else's cloud: conversations, numbers and transcripts are stored at the vendor, languages are limited, and billing is per-minute plus a subscription.
TeaSIP combines the strengths of both: voice AI like the cloud services — but entirely on your own server, like an on-premise PBX.
Comparison table
| Capability | TeaSIP | Free PBX (Asterisk/FreePBX, FreeSWITCH, VitalPBX) | Cloud AI callers |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it is | An AI agent that calls and talks on its own | A phone exchange for operators | An AI calling service |
| Neural voice (TTS) | Yes, ru/en/tg | No, recordings and IVR only | Yes, limited languages |
| Speech recognition | Local, 8 kHz | Not out of the box | Cloud |
| Tajik language | Yes | — | Rarely / no |
| Scenario builder | Visual, with templates | Dialplans by hand | Yes |
| Smart dialing (retries, windows, time zones, limits) | Yes | Partly, by hand | Yes |
| Hand-off to operator with context | Yes | Transfer yes, no AI context | Limited |
| Offline / on-premise | 100%, no clouds | Yes (the PBX itself), but no AI | No |
| Where conversations and data live | On your server | On your server | In the vendor's cloud |
| Pricing model | A license on your server, no per-minute | Free, but you build the AI yourself | Subscription + per-minute |
Who it's for
TeaSIP suits banks and microfinance firms (payment and overdue reminders), online shops and delivery services (order confirmations), clinics and services (visit reminders), and any business that needs its client base and call recordings to physically stay inside the company rather than go to someone else's cloud.
You can explore the features and request a demo on the TeaSIP website. Other artificial-intelligence services are gathered in the «Neural networks & AI» section of the catalog.tj directory.
